Varnishes, inks and adhesives from WEILBURGER Graphics now even safer

Gerhardshofen, 22 August 2011 – the packaging industry is on the move and due to various recent food scandals planning to make the food packaging sector and associated industrial sectors such as the tobacco industry even safer than before. The relevant laws are being tightened up and the choice of suitable substrates, inks, varnishes and adhesives minimised. That is good for protecting consumers, but is a cause of sustained uncertainty for many service providers.

It is for this reason that the company WEILBURGER Graphics has re-catalogued its complete range of products and re-evaluated it in terms of its food conformity in accordance with current statutory requirements and the recommendations issued by the key testing institutes and certifying bodies FABES and ISEGA as well as by the Swiss Commodities Act SR 817.023.21.

Certified quality and sustainability in the industrial varnish and ink production

WEILBURGER Graphics is now also certificated according to ISO 9001 : 2008 and ISO 14001 : 2004

Gerhardshofen, 22nd February 2011 – Already last November the successfully passed audits regarding the certification according to the standards DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2008 and ISO 14001 : 2004 were realized by the DQS GmbH (Deutsche Gesellschaft zur Zertifizierung von Managementsystemen) on the premises of WEILBURGER Graphics.

The aim of the quality management norm DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2008 is to optimize permanently all processes of production in order to safeguard and to increase the quality level. Regarding the environmental standards ISO 14001 :  2004 the focus is put on a continuous optimizing process which respects all aspects of the environment protection. The international norm ISO 14001 is the worldwide most significant guideline which an environmental management in companies and other organizations shall contain and perform.

Called Benefits and Technologies for Value Added Printing, the seminar was targeted at Polish Sheetfed Printing & Packaging industry specialists, with moderation by Jacek Hamerli?ski of COBRPP - Research & Development Centre for the Graphic Arts.

WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH – Contrasts of the Print Finishing

Pickings of the 6. Fränkische Lackspezialitäten (6. Franconian Lacquer Specialities)

Gerhardshofen 23.11.2010 – “Contrasts” was this year’s theme of “Fränkische Lackspezialiäten” – the annual event of the WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH about the themes printing and finishing. And the program of the day should also be rich in contrast. This year again, top-class speakers from different metiers could be won to present the 60 attendees of the event different angles of the printing production. After the greeting by Mr. Günter Korbacher, managing director of WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH, Mr. Arno Dürr, Head of Sales Department, guided the guests through the program. Mr. Gabriel Goldmayer of M-real then opened the lecture series with his talk titled “Contrasts vied by the cardboard manufacturer”, followed by Mr. Jürgen Kleinhans of BACARDI GmbH, who described the production and application of print finishing from the point of view of a brand name company with his speech “Look & Feel on the POS”. Dr. Michael Bartelt of Schlenk Metallic Pigments GmbH ended the series of morning lectures prior to the lunch break and viewing of the manufacturing facility with his lecture themed “Metallic Colours as Eye-catcher – Packaging & Contrasts created valuably”.

Workshop series „printing and finishing in flexography”
Successful first SENOFLEX® workshop of WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH

On 27th of September, consciously one day before the start of the trade fair FachPack in Nuremberg, WEILBURGER Graphics invited to its first SENOFLEX® Workshop in Gerhardshofen in order to discuss the topic printing and finishing efficiency.

Followed by the opening of Mr. Günter Korbacher, Dr. Alexander Faber and Dr. Jürgen Stropp presented the SENOFLEX® product series – a ink and coating series for high-quality flexo printing developed and optimized by WEILBURGER Graphics.

WEILBURGER Grafik-Polska Sp. z o.o. celebrates 10th anniversary

Poznan, 23rd September 2010 – The anniversary year of WEILBURGER Grafik-Polska is another milestone in the ten year old company history. In April 2010 the subsidiary company of WEILBURGER Graphics GmbH in Gerhardshofen moved into a new corporate building on the outskirts of Poznan with a large office space of 250 m2 as well as a 1.000 m2 big warehouse.

The success story began in the year 2000, when Josef Kurzok founded the company as a “one-man show” and managed it with great support of Marian Schwark. The high product quality of WEILBURGER Graphics in association with the technical know-how and the respective knowledge of the Polish market of Josef Kurzok proved to be an excellent combination so that the success soon followed. In the following years the turnover as well as the number of employees of the Polish selling agency increased continuously. Already in 2002 the first relocation into a bigger company building on the premises of BSC took place. Regular events throughout Poland – among other things the organization of the first varnish seminar in Szczecin at the end of 2006 as well as the realization of a seminar in Warsaw concerning “brand protection” at the end of 2009 – popularized the name WEILBURGER Grafik-Polska even further.

  • Ipex 2010 sparks new wave of industry optimism
  • Tens of millions of pounds invested
Professor Frank Romano, international analyst and Ipex ‘Champion in Print’ best summed up the mood of exhibitors and visitors when he declared that “Ipex 2010 has demonstrated that the printing industry is back in business”.

With one day of Ipex 2010 to go visitor attendance stood at just under 50,000 from 135 countries, excluding over 20,000 exhibitor, agents, dealers, distributor, OEM’s and 500 international media personnel. Most significantly, the international ratio has increased by 8% compared to 2006, with the overall visitor attendance representing 48%. This makes Ipex more international than any other business to business event in the UK.
